Modern Methods of Construction Roadshow, Adelaide @ Adelaide Oval Functions & Events

C.R. Kennedy will be holding a national ‘Modern Methods of Construction Roadshow’ throughout late-February, March and April 2024, highlighting the ways in which the latest software, tools and technology are enabling businesses to streamline their operations.

Attendees will be treated to:

  • A presentation on managing digital data workflow using BricsCAD, and the Leica iCON Total Station for efficient construction set out.
  • A case study from a company using Leica technology.
  • Information from Leica on some of the latest technologies in high-definition 3D laser scanning for accurate reality capture.
  • Details of the latest underground detection technologies, such as locators and ground penetrating radar.
  • Presentations on the latest in rotating lasers and handheld laser distance measurers (Leica distos) for quick and easy measurements.
  • A look at how BricsCAD software can be used with each of these technologies to help bring all data and projects seamlessly together.

Time will be set aside for discussion, and demonstrations of each of the products will be made after the presentations.

  • Sydney: 14 March 2024, 9:00am to 1:00pm
  • Brisbane: 20 March 2024, 9:00am to 1:00pm
  • Perth: 27 March 2024, 9:00am to 1:00pm

Each year, the Locate conference attracts hundreds of national and international delegates from within and outside the spatial, space and surveying sectors.

As Australia’s premier spatial and surveying conference, Locate provides guests with a unique opportunity to learn about the latest trends and applications in geospatial technologies.

The 2024 event will be held at the International Convention Centre at Darling Harbour in Sydney, and will include a gala evening dinner and presentation of the Geospatial Excellence Awards (formerly the Asia-Pacific Spatial Excellence Awards).

The convenor for Locate24 will be Narelle Underwood, Surveyor-General of NSW.

The Geospatial World Forum is an annual gathering of geospatial professionals and leaders representing the entire ecosystem of public policies, national mapping agencies, private sector enterprises, multilateral and development organisations, scientific and academic institutions, and large end-users from government businesses and citizen services.

Geospatial World Forum 2024 will be held from 13 to 16 May in Rotterdam. Having its theme as ‘Geospatial Transition: Powering the World Economy,’ the event will showcase various facets of the ongoing transition of the geospatial industry and its existing and potential value in the world economy.

ISPRS TC V Symposium @ Manila, Philippines

The Philippines will host the International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ISPRS) Technical Commission V (TC V) Symposium with the theme, ‘Insight to Foresight via Geospatial Technologies,’ from 6 to 8 August 2024 in Manila.

The three-day event will feature plenary and parallel sessions, exhibits, poster presentations and business meetings, and aims to inspire new methods of teaching/learning, collaboration, and promotion of accessible and easy-to-use geospatial data among engage professionals, educators and tertiary students.

ISPRS TC V focuses on the capacity building of professionals, educators and students, and in developing cost-effective teaching methods. These include distance learning programs, international collaborations on sharing web-based resources, and curricula development that meets regional needs.

  • Deadline for submission of full papers for annals & abstracts for archives: 15 March 2024
  • Notification of paper acceptance: 15 April 2024
  • Early registration: 15 May 2024

The 2024 Free and Open Source Software for Geospatial Conference (FOSS4G) will be held in Belém, Brazil, located in the heart of the Amazon.

FOSS4G, an annual event organised by the Open Source Geospatial Foundation (OSGeo) since 2006, is one of the largest global meetings on geospatial software of the year.

The local organising committee will be comprised of passionate Brazilians experienced in OSGeo technologies, along with the Geoinquietos Argentina team.

The International Federation of Surveyors (FIG) Working Week 2025 will be held at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre from Sunday, 1 June to Thursday, 5 June 2025.

The theme for the event will be: Collaboration, Innovation and Resilience: Championing a Digital Generation.

The Convenor for FIG Working Week 2025 is Steve Jacoby, Executive Director, Spatial Information at Department of Resources (Queensland) who has 23 years’ experience as a Senior Executive with the Queensland and Victorian Governments, leading their Spatial Information businesses. Steve has a keen interest in information management and seeing the use of spatial information reach its potential within government, business and the public.

The Program Chair is surveyor, Peter James who is the Business Development Manager, Cohga an Australian company with a focus on the development of IT products, and the provision of associated professional services. Peter is also the son of Earl James, Australia’s first and only FIG President.

FIG Working Week 2025 is a great opportunity for Australia’s geospatial community to showcase their technical expertise, strong research capability and warm hospitality.
