Sydney will host one of the biggest spatial events in history this year, when the Locate Conference and the International Society for Digital Earth (ISDE) Symposium join forces for a joint event being held 3-6 April 2017.
Locate16 attracted almost 500 attendees last week, and with the international audience attracted by ISDE, this number is expected to be far greater in 2017. The event will be hosted at the International Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre, which is currently undergoing a $3.4 billion transformation and will be newly re-opened.
ISDE represents a global initiative to construct a comprehensive virtual representation of the planet through what is known as Digital Earth. It is a collaborative effort between Earth sciences, space sciences and information sciences to monitor and forecast natural and human phenomena.
ISDE is a non-political, non-governmental and not-for-profit international organisation, principally for promoting academic exchange, science and technology innovation, education, and international collaboration towards Digital Earth. Since 2010, their annual symposium has become a highlight of the international spatial events calendar.

From sensing with drones, mobile rigs or hand-held devices to AR/VR and 3D printed deliverables, everything 3D is here at the only industry-agnostic, platform-neutral 3D event in the market. Since 2004, SPAR 3D has been showcasing best in class 3D products from input to output. Recent 3D product innovations and industry growth are changing the way people work across multiple industries. Whatever it is, you will see it here first. Be part of the conversation at the 2017 event.
Together with our esteemed Advisory Board, we’ll select key thought-leaders doing the most groundbreaking work with 3D technologies to participate in our conference program. No sales pitches, only practical, engaging content from industry visionaries.

FIG Working Week, 29 May – 2 June 2017, Helsinki, Finland, is an exciting week-long conference that brings the international community of surveying and spatial professionals together to experience a mix of interesting plenary and technical sessions and workshops, a trade exhibition and a variety of side events and social functions.
The week gives a unique opportunity to discuss key challenges of our time within the surveying profession with fellow peers.
The overall theme of the Working Week is “Surveying the world of tomorrow – From digitalisation to augmented reality”. We have been witnessing the first beginning of a development leading towards services which not only describe the visible world around us but also simultaneously bring up other information connected to our place of interest.
One step is to become digitalized and to use the digital information; the next step is to combine information and be able to collect the data intelligently and to take further steps into the intelligent use of digital information. The theme was chosen to highlight the opportunities and open a view into a future where the large amount of information we produce is, again, put into a more efficient use.
