The Institution of Surveyors NSW’s annual conference is back and will be moving around the state, starting in 2023 in Newcastle.
Not only is the location changing, but also the date, having been moved out of school holidays to allow more flexibility for parents.

The Association of Public Authority Surveyors, NSW (APAS) annual conference for 2023 will be held at Opal Cove Resort in Coffs Harbour, from 20 to 22 March 2023.
The theme for the event will the ‘Pirates of the Cadastre’. The program is being developed, with a call for abstracts currently in place (as of June 2022).
Important dates and deadlines to note, are:
- Abstract submission deadline: Friday, 23 September 2022
- Draft paper deadline: Friday, 18 November 2022
- Final paper deadline: Friday, 20 January 2023
Throughout history, surveyors have remained the pioneers of discovery shaping our world to its current existence by exploring the unknown on earth and in space. Fast forward to 2013 when the signing of the Budapest declaration created a common worldwide celebration for those leaders, past and present.
Global Surveyors’ Day is a way to globally recognise the ground-breakers, pioneers, individuals and the industry that has shaped our history and continues to be the foundation of our communities.

The Country Surveyors Association of NSW Easter Conference 2023 will be held at the Novotel Sydney Central in Haymarket, Sydney, on 23 and 24 March 2023.
The annual conference is well attended by many surveyors, both members and non-members of the Association. Over the past 40 years have been held as far west as Broken Hill and Deniliquin, north to Armidale and Port Macquarie, south to Albury and Wagga Wagga and more centrally at places like Orange, Katoomba, Gosford and Nowra. These family orientated events have led to many enduring friendships across the whole of New South Wales.
The Institution of Surveyors NSW (ISNSW) 2024 Annual Conference will be held over two days in February in the picturesque Blue Mountains, NSW.
Presented as a hybrid event, attendees will have the choice to join online or in person. Speakers will present on a wide range of topics, giving delegates the chance to hear from the industry’s best and network with them.
The event is open to ISNSW members as well as non-members.

BeGeo, an initiative of the Belgian National Geographical Institute (NGI), is an annual national event for the geo sector in Belgium.
The BeGeo conference combines with a geographic information fair to bring together a wide range of players from the public sector, academia, research, the private sector and associations. This year, the organisers have once again chosen Brussels Expo as the location for the event.
BeGeo says its vision is to be a platform where important players from the sector meet and thus actively contribute to the growth of the knowledge and competences necessary to tackle complex challenges and realise the great potential of geodata.
The ROTORTECH Helicopter and Uncrewed Flight Exposition is the premier industry event for the Helicopter/Rotary Wing and RPAS/UAV/eVTOL community in Australia, New Zealand and the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
Held by AMDA Foundation with input from major industry supporter the Australian Helicopter Industry Association, ROTORTECH 2024 will provide a vital interface between industry, regulators and government, including:

The Geospatial Council of Australia’s Spatial Information Day will be an immersive journey into the dynamic world of geospatial data and technology.
Delegates will have the opportunity to engage with industry leaders, renowned experts and fellow enthusiasts, while delving into the latest advancements reshaping the understanding of space and place. On the agenda will be innovative solutions driving progress across sectors such as urban planning, environment management and disaster response.
The event will be followed in the evening by the 2024 SA Geospatial Excellence Awards Dinner, the industry’s premier platform to celebrate the achievements of top geospatial organisations and individuals in the state.
The 2024 NSW Geospatial Excellence Awards will recognise individuals, teams and organisations that have made significant contributions to the field of geospatial technology and applications.
The awards highlight excellence in various categories, including research, project implementation and technological advancements.
