The Association of Public Authority Surveyors, NSW (APAS) annual conference for 2023 will be held at Opal Cove Resort in Coffs Harbour, from 20 to 22 March 2023.
The theme for the event will the ‘Pirates of the Cadastre’. The program is being developed, with a call for abstracts currently in place (as of June 2022).
Important dates and deadlines to note, are:

- Draft paper deadline: Friday, 18 November 2022
- Final paper deadline: Friday, 20 January 2023
The Country Surveyors Association of NSW Easter Conference 2023 will be held at the Novotel Sydney Central in Haymarket, Sydney, on 23 and 24 March 2023.
The annual conference is well attended by many surveyors, both members and non-members of the Association. Over the past 40 years have been held as far west as Broken Hill and Deniliquin, north to Armidale and Port Macquarie, south to Albury and Wagga Wagga and more centrally at places like Orange, Katoomba, Gosford and Nowra. These family orientated events have led to many enduring friendships across the whole of New South Wales.
The World of Drones and Robotics Congress New Zealand (WoDaRC NZ) is shaping up as an unmissable event for anyone involved in robotics, drones, AI, AgTech and data-led innovation. WoDaRC is business-led, technology based and will create opportunities for collaboration and growth across the technology ecosystem.
Topics to be covered include:
- Regional capability and strategy
- Humanitarian engineering and disaster response
- Environmental science and agricultural technology
- The new frontiers: oceans, mountains, and space
- Movies, media, community, and social empowerment
- Education
Planning is underway for the S+SNZ 2023 Annual Conference which will be held at Otago University in Dunedin from 30 August through to 1 September 2023.
The S+SNZ conference is the biggest continuing professional development event of the year for NZ surveying and spatial professionals. It invites sharing of knowledge amongst peers, bringing together networking opportunities for all delegates and is an essential event for professional development and connectivity within the sector.
The 2023 Queensland Geospatial Conference & Awards Dinner will be held in Brisbane on Friday, 20 October 2023.
The conference will be a chance for the Queensland geospatial community to learn about the latest projects and research, connect with colleagues and see the latest technology from local suppliers. The conference will be followed by the awards dinner.
Presentation abstract proposals are being accepted until Monday, 28 August.

The Institution of Surveyors NSW (ISNSW) 2024 Annual Conference will be held over two days in February in the picturesque Blue Mountains, NSW.
Presented as a hybrid event, attendees will have the choice to join online or in person. Speakers will present on a wide range of topics, giving delegates the chance to hear from the industry’s best and network with them.
The event is open to ISNSW members as well as non-members.
The 2024 annual conference of the Association of Public Authority Surveyors, NSW (APAS) will be held at the Hyatt Hotel, Canberra, from 18 to 20 March 2024. The theme of the conference will be ‘Pushing the Boundaries’.

The New Zealand: Digital Twin 2024 Summit will explore the roadmap of digital twin systems and their impact on each stage of a project, and explore the core values, challenges and opportunities unique to the priorities of New Zealand and how digital twins can deliver them.
The event will feature real stories of success and failure, research insights, and focus not just on what has already happened but also on the potential of digital twins and where key opportunities for timely innovation appear to be.
Delegates will hear from technical experts, industry leaders and researchers in an experience designed to support the development of a dynamic and scalable digital twin ecosystem in New Zealand.
The annual conference of Survey and Spatial New Zealand (S+SNZ) will take place in August in Napier, on the east coast of New Zealand’s North Island.
Napier was the epicentre of destruction wrought by Cyclone Gabrielle in 2023, so the theme for the 2024 event is ‘Looking Ahead in the Heartland,’ which S+SNZ says, refers “not just to the optimism and resilience of provincial New Zealand, but also provides an opportunity to discuss approaches to the challenges of climate change and disaster recovery around the country”.
