The Surveying 2017 Congress was the brainchild of a group from Consulting Surveyors National who saw the need for Surveyors across Australia to meet together to discuss nationally-relevant ideas and issues specific to the Surveying profession. This 2017 Congress was held in the beautiful Yarra Valley Resort in Victoria, and successfully brought together Surveyors from many states.
Delegates enjoyed a diverse, informative and entertaining array of speakers, with the Surveyor-Generals’ panel one of the congress highlights.
Presentations from high-profile Australians were also a highlight, with Tim Jarvis AM (author and adventurer) providing an entertaining recount of his recreation of Ernest Shackleton’s crossing of the Southern Ocean. Jessica Watson OAM (world solo sailor at 16) captivated the delegates during the Congress Dinner.
Following on from the success of this year’s congress, Surveying 2018 will take place in Sydney, and has been organised in conjunction with the 99th NSW Country Surveyors Association’s Conference. This event once again promises to unite the Surveying community from all states in Australia and provide an array of topics specific to the needs and interests of Surveyors from across the nation.
The organising committee for Surveying 2018 invites you to Sydney on 21-23 March. Come and take part in this nationally-significant congress, and at the same time enjoy this international city.
This congress gives Surveyors the opportunity to holiday and see the sights of Sydney with their partners and family. A full-day Partners Program is offered, which will include a tour of the fascinating, lesser-known areas of the city. The congress dinner, which will be held at Dockside in Darling Harbour, will be ensure that delegates and their partners take in the best of Sydney.
Take the time to review the Congress program which incorporates issues relevant to all Surveyors – including the impacts of the privatisation of land titles offices, GDA 2020 and Digital Planning and Subdivision Portals.
