The Spatial Information and Cartography Commission of the SSSI is presenting the first AURIN masterclass on Monday 7 April from 10 am to 4 pm, to coincide with Locate14.
The AURIN Masterclass is an allied event of the Locate14 Conference and Exhibition and will be held at National Convention Centre, Canberra.
The Australian Urban Research Infrastructure Network (AURIN) is a $20 million initiative funded by the Australian Government’s Super Science scheme. AURIN provides built environment and urban researchers, designers and planners with infrastructure to facilitate access to a distributed network of aggregated datasets and information services.
This Masterclass will guide participants through the AURIN portal, which includes over 600 datasets directly. The portal securely accesses this data through federated servers from across Australia, including ABS, Geoscience Australia, PSMA and Fairfax’s Australian Property Monitors (APM). Further to this, advanced spatial-statistical and visual analysis routines are provided, to give participants a rapid overview of the urban information landscape.
More information and registration is available from the SSSI event page.
It should be noted that registration in the AURIN Masterclass is not a registration to attend the Locate14 Conference and Exhibition. Please visit the Locate14 website to complete registration for Locate14.
Locate14 Conference and Exhibition combines three previous national events – the spatial@gov Conference, the Surveying & Spatial Sciences Conference (SSSC) and the Asia- Pacific Spatial Excellence Awards (APSEA) combining to form a single premier Australian and New Zealand industry event, running from 7-9 April 2014.
