Aptella has announced that it will provide free access to its AllDayRTK high-accuracy positioning services for those involved in natural disaster recovery efforts.

The offer is available to registered volunteers and recovery organisations involved in bushfire and flood recovery efforts across Australia.

Reliable positioning is critical for coordinating recovery operations, assessing damage, and restoring essential infrastructure during times of natural disaster.

However, such extreme events often disrupt permanent GNSS base stations due to power outages and loss of internet connectivity.

To address these challenges, AllDayRTK has developed a Synthetic Base Station system that enables high-accuracy positioning even when permanent bases are damaged or offline.

The technology creates a virtual reference station network that ensures continuity of service in disaster-affected regions, supporting emergency response teams and volunteers where traditional infrastructure cannot.

“Aptella is always willing to do what we can to support volunteer services with high-accuracy positioning that assist with recovery after natural disasters and extreme weather events,” said Greg Macklin, CEO at Aptella.

“Our commitment is to ensure that those on the front lines have the tools they need to rebuild communities quickly and safely.”

More information can be obtained by contacting Aptella on 1300 867 266 or by visiting the company’s website.

Previously, Spatial Source reported on assistance being offered to landowners by the Surveyor-General Victoria (SGV).

Property owners whose boundary fences have been destroyed by bushfires can access Victorian Government funding to help with restoration, with SGV able to offer advice on the land surveys required for such work.

SGV is also compiling a list of surveying firms and licensed land surveyors who are willing to provide landowners with professional survey advice at a discounted rate.
