Mentors sought until May 19 for the SSSI’s Young Professionals 2019 mentoring program, running from July to October.
The future of surveying and spatial disciplines lies entirely with those currently studying and beginning their careers.
Beyond the ever-quickening march of inegral technology, the industry’s demographic make-up is such that the next decade will see almost half of those currently working retire — without as many to replace them. Succession planning and passing on knowledge accrued over a career is critical to ensure a bright horizon for these professions.
One of the most direct, practical and rewarding ways you can contribute to this process is by mentoring an early career spatial scientist or surveyor through the SSSI’s Young Professionals mentoring program.
By dedicating just an hour per fortnight over four months, you can help solidify a student or budding professional’s career choice and prepare them for a rewarding professional life and contribution to the spatial industry. Up to five CPD points can be earned through participation.
Apply here to be a mentor before Sunday May 19, and find out more on the SSSI Young Professionals website.
