GITA industry networking event, Sydney

GITA is holding an industry networking event in Sydney on July 24 for members and non-members of GITA.

The event will include talks from some high profile speakers, including:

  • Anna Murray, Government, Defence and Geospatial solutions exec, Bentley Systems.
    Anna has over 20 years in the IT and technology industry with the last 6 in engineering software companies working with industry on managing their CAD, engineering and GIS data.  She now works for Bentley Systems in the Defence and government sectors working with customers to achieve value from their investment in Bentley technology.
  • Bruce Douglas, Director, Corporate GIS
  • This presentation will provide an update on several activities that GITA is involved in, particularly: the new Subsurface Utility Information (SUI) standard; and the SI work that GITA is involved in with the NSW Board of Surveying and Spatial Information.
    In addition, Bruce will provide some insight into current issues and trends in the spatial information industry.
    Bruce Douglas is the founder and a Director of Corporate GIS, an independent Strategic Management consultancy in the Spatial Information Industry. Bruce has over 30 years’ experience in the SI industry developing business-based strategies for the use of GIS to meet key business requirements. Bruce is a Past President of GITA Australia & New Zealand. Bruce is the author of the book “Achieving Business Success with GIS”, published by Wiley & Son, London.

The event will be held on Wednesday 24 July 2013, from 4:30pm to 6:30pm, in Meeting Room 5B of the Hall way locomotive work shop at the Australian Technology Park Sydney Limited Office, in Eveleigh, NSW.
