There’s less that one week to go for the abstract and early bird registration deadline for the Advancing Earth Observation Forum.
The AEO26 Forum event, to be hosted by Earth Observation Australia (EOA), will be held from 9 to 12 November 2026 in Hobart.
Prospective presenters have until 26 June to get their abstract submissions in, and the same deadline applies for those who wish to take advantage of the discounted early bird registration rates.
AEO26 Forum will have five session and presentation options
- Themed sessions
- Individual presentations
- Lightning talks
- Poster presentations
- Workshops
Themed sessions, in particular, are an ideal opportunity for Earth observation experts to curate a four-part session addressing a common theme.
AEO26 Forum to attract a wide cross-section of participants
The AEO26 Forum will bring the full spectrum of the Earth observation community together from across Australia and beyond.
Attendees at these fully face-to-face fora are able to form new relationships, establish collaborations and expand connections, and dive deep discussions about critical matters, and hear about the latest research and advancements.
The event regularly attracts a wide cross-section of participants from industry, government, research, defence, not-for-profits and educational institutions.
The theme for 2026 is ‘Sovereign Capability, Global Impact,’ which reflects the increasing role of Earth observation across sectors such as:
- Food security
- Water management
- Energy
- Transport
- Community resilience
- Environmental protection
- Disaster preparedness
- Climate resilience.
Strong demand for AEO26 Forum workshops
The AEO26 Forum will be held across three days, with a fourth day allocated to workshops. The venues will be the Crowne Plaza Hobart and the University of Tasmania.
Registration for the workshops can be made separately or in addition to registration for the Forum proper.
The organisers are experiencing strong demand for the workshops, so much so that increased capacity has been secured in the brand-new Forest Building at UTAS.
