Surveyors operating in NSW need to ensure that they are ready for the changeover to using Land Registry Services’ (LRS) Digital Form Builder.
The requirement to use Digital Form Builder is an outcome of the NSW Government’s Digital Forms mandate, which will come into operation on 1 July 2026.
According to LRS, as part of the progression of the Digital Survey Plans (DSP) Program, any plan signed and completed by a Registered Surveyor on or after that date, will have need to:
- Have all accompanying Administration Sheets and section 88B Instruments be generated in LRS Connect using the Digital Form Builder; and
- Be electronically lodged through LRS Connect.
Support available for the Digital Forms changeover
LRS has a wealth of support and assistance available to both surveying and legal professionals in the lead up to the 1 July changeover.
Training recordings and other resources and materials are available online, on topics such as deposited and community plans, and strata plans.
Surveyors can register for weekly support sessions, and there’s also a full user guide available.
Those with questions can direct them to the LRS Connect Administration Team at Connect@nswlrs.com.au.
LRS regulated fees changing on 1 July
In other news, LRS has advised that fees for products and services involving land titles, plans, property information will change for the 2026–27 financial year.
Land title dealings and plans lodged before 1 July 2026 but not finalised until after 1 July 2026 will still be charged according to the 2025–26 fees.
A full breakdown of all the new fees can be found on LRS’ Forms and Fees webpage.
