u-blox makes new executive appointment

Global provider of positioning systems and wireless communication technology, u-blox, has introduced Markus Schaefer as the new Executive Director for Global Marketing and Sales.

Schaefer, who is said to complete u-blox’s leadership team, is a veteran of the semiconductor business with a strong reputation for growing market share in his past positions, according to material released by the company.

Under the newIn his new role, Markus Schaefer will execute the company’s sales and marketing strategy in the Americas, EMEA, and APAC sales regions. In addition to managing the company’s business expansion, he will be in charge of developing the new business channels.

Schaefer holds an M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering (Dipl.- Ing.) from RWTH Aachen, Germany and an MBA from Tiffin University, Ohio, USA. He brings with him in-depth knowledge about markets and products significant to u blox, gained over 15 years while driving global sales teams at Infineon, NXP, and, most as of late, MACOM.
