Survey Earth in a Day 4D 2015

International online network Land Surveyors United is organising Survey Earth in a Day 2015 (SEIAD), which will be held on the solstice on 21 June 2015. Surveyors and geospatial professionals around the world are invited to get involved by simultaneously recording and sharing survey grade GPS data from thousands of points around globally.

Land Surveyors United describes the event as a time for celebrating the land surveying profession and the international surveying community. SEIAD involves an international network of surveyors around the world simultaneously gathering GNSS/GPS data from a known point near their location and submitting it to the network, which Land Surveyors United then plot on a map.

2015 will be the 4th year for SEIAD and submitted data will be layered on top of data from previous years. This year the event will be called 4D as data we will be layered over the previous 3 years into a single map.

Since the 2014 event, Land Surveyors United has grown by 3,000 members, so it is expected to be the biggest SEIAD to date.
