1Spatial’s new appointments in Australian office

By on 21 February, 2012

1Spatial recently announced the appointment of Brett Madsen to the position of Regional Manager, Australia/New Zealand, based in the 1Spatial office located in Sydney, Australia.

Brett brings wealth of experience, having previously managed Lagen Spatial in Australia for 10 years, prior to its acquisition by the 1Spatial Group in April 2011. The appointment is the next step in the development of the business.

Brett’s appointment is just one of several changes going on in the 1Spatial Australia office. Benjamin Crockett has been appointed to the role of National Sales Manager for Australia and Matthew Robinson has been appointed Team Leader – Technical Solutions. Benjamin will be looking after the Sales and Marketing functions, while Matthew will be responsible for the Technical and Professional services functions. In addition, Natalie Cooney takes on an expanded role as Office Manager.

Strong sales, a growing customer base and the ambition to continue building the company’s presence in the Asia-Pacific region are the reasons behind the internal changes. New positions, to be advertised shortly, will add to these positive changes and support the continued growth.

Commenting on the appointments, Brett said:
“This new position will enable me to actively contribute to 1Spatial and lead the team here locally to deliver on our corporate objectives. The other internal changes will enable the team to develop and flourish in line with their strengths and support continued business growth as the 1Spatial Group enters a new chapter.”

Nic Snape, Managing Director of 1Spatial added:
“Following the acquisition of Lagen Spatial and the integration of the two businesses, it was important that we supported the great work that was already going on and made provision for expansion of the business. We are encouraged by the commitment and energy shown by the team based in Australia and excited about the opportunities in the region. As the 1Spatial Group enters a new era following the recent merger with Avisen plc, the team in Australia have an important part to play.”
