Spatial data firm 1Spatial has appointed Guy Perkins as managing director for Asia-Pacific, as part of a new drive to further strengthen relations with the firm's existing customer base and partner community, and to identify new market opportunities in the Australian and New Zealand region.
Prior to his current appointment Perkins held various executive management positions with leading organisations in the geospatial industry, including ESRI and PitneyBowes MapInfo.
Nic Snape, chief executive of 1Spatial, welcomed the appointment.
“1Spatial is delighted to further expand its footprint in the APAC market. Guy brings extensive knowledge and business insight and his appointment reflects our continued commitment to this region and our existing install base”, he said.
The appointment comes as 1Spatial begins to experience growth in the Asia-Pacific market place.
The market is expanding rapidly with the increase of e-trading initiatives resulting in the need for trusted location-based information.
PSMA Australia, Queensland Transport and Main Roads, and MidCoast Water have already adopted the 1Spatial data centric-approach.
Perkins said he looked forward to taking up the role.
