SSSI WA and ACT conferences imminent

By on 16 October, 2018

TSurveying & Spatial Science Institutes of Western Australia and the Australian Capital Territory have their annual forums rapidly approaching, with cutting-edge conference themes promising compelling programs.

First cab off the rank is the SSSI WA LIFE forum — the Location Intelligence Forum and Exhibition 2018, on October 19 at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre.

LIFE 2018 will focus on local stories of business in the fourth industrial revolution, from the sharing economy and rise of blockchain driving new business models, to commercial applications of artificial intelligence and the internet-of-things (IoT).

Jeremy Hurst from SpaceToCo will share his story about linking people to the spaces they need to collaborate after the startup’s recent, successful appearance on Shark Tank, and Siobhan Lancaster, from local Innovators of the Year 2016 Instatruck, will share her story of creating an on-demand service for trucking. Find out more and register at the event website.

The ACT Office of the Surveyor General and Land Information have partnered with SSSI ACT for a special annual conference focusing on Australia’s infrastructure growth spurt and the latest trends in the 3D space: 3D Cadastre, 3D enablers, indoor positioning, smart cities and new opportunities in other built environment and transport sectors.

An impressive cast of interstate talent will lead the future-focused, survey-heavy program:

The full-day event will also include the ACT Asia-Pacific Spatial Excellence Awards, and will take place on November 2 at the National Gallery of Australia. Register for the conference or nominate for the APSEA awards here.
