
The recipients of Survey and Spatial NZ’s 2025 Professional Excellence Awards have been announced.
These awards recognise individuals and organisations who exemplify the very best in professionalism, innovation and dedication within the surveying and spatial community.
The award categories and recipients are as follows:
Stream Awards for Professional Excellence
- Cadastral Stream recipient: Craig McInnes
- Spatial Stream recipient: Kirstie Mackie
- Land Development Stream recipient: Antony White
- Engineering Surveying Stream recipient: David Stewart
- Positioning & Measurement recipient: Bruce Robinson
- Hydrography Stream recipient: Declan Stubbing
The special McRae Supreme Award was awarded to Craig McInnes. This award recognises individual effort, with the recipient chosen from the recipients of the Stream Awards.

Bogle Young Professional of the Year
This award honours outstanding service by a young surveyor; it may be awarded annually to a member under 35 years of age who has made a significant contribution to the profession. Established in 1969, it commemorates Archibald Hugh Bogle, CBE.
This year’s recipient is Michael Lister.

Technicians Award
Established in 1988, the Technicians Award recognises the value of work carried out by technicians in the surveying profession. It honours technically trained members who have made significant contributions to surveying and/or S+SNZ.
This year’s recipient is Stephen Neal.

CSNZ Business Excellence Award
The CSNZ Business Excellence Award recognises a business that is a leader in the profession, and which has demonstrated exceptional people practices. This year’s recipient is Patersons Land Professionals.
Cadastral Survey of the Year Award
This award recognises outstanding cadastral surveys and celebrates excellence in the field of cadastral surveying. The recipients for 2025 are Graeme Crouchley (Gold), Brett Horne (Silver) and Anthony Nikkel (Bronze).

And finally, the recipient of the Maurice Crompton-Smith Memorial Award for submitting the best set of projects for a Certificate of Competency, is Elisabeth Antunovic, while the recipient of the Percey Dyett Award for the best overall land development engineering candidate in the professional entrance examinations, is Maxwell Rasmussen.
