Queensland’s Department of Natural Resources and Mines, Manufacturing and Regional and Rural Development has announced the termination of the Flood Depth Time Series (Qld Government) Service.
An email circulated by the Department’s Spatial Information Team on the afternoon of Thursday, 18 December, said as follows:
“Geoscience Australia and the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) funded and coordinated access to the ICEYE contract for flood depth data for Australia.
“The Department of Natural Resources and Mines, Manufacturing and Regional and Rural Development (NRMMRRD) coordinated access to the resulting flood depth data on behalf of Queensland stakeholders through the Flood Depth Time Series (Qld Government) Service.
“On Friday 12 December 2025, NEMA advised that the contract would not be renewed, and the Flood Depth Time Series (Qld Government) Service will be terminated.
“NRMMRRD does not have funding to continue the contract for Queensland stakeholders.”
This means that the service will be terminated as of 8:00am on Monday, 22 December 2025.
The Department has advised that “Customers with local copies of this data must delete the files by Monday, 22 of December 2025 as the End User Licence Agreement ends when this service terminates”.
The Department advised that concerned parties can send questions relating to this development to reporting@nema.gov.au.
