Position Partners has appointed CEO Martin Nix to the company’s board, along with Position Partners co-founders Western Australia state manager Garry MacPhail and NSW state manager Brian McLoughlin.
Mr Nix has formerly held senior executive positions across sales, marketing, product development and strategic planning with Leica in Australia, Switzerland and the United States.
He has also participated in working groups for the Australia New Zealand Land Information Council (now known as The Spatial Information Council of Australia and New Zealand) and worked on GNSS strategy for the Space Policy Unit.
Mr Nix said he was delighted to be part of a highly experienced and motivated management team driving Position Partners.
“Having merged from five separate state-based businesses to become a cohesive, national company, the Position Partners board and senior management team combines extensive industry expertise and essential local knowledge from successfully running their own businesses for many years,” he said.
Position Partners formed in 2008 after ABC Lasers, Laserquip, Laser Beams, Ross Instruments and Stadia Instruments – all former dealers of Topcon Positioning Systems – joined forces.
New board member Garry MacPhail was one of the original founders of Stadia Instruments, with business partner Bernard Cecchele in 2001.
And Brian McLoughlin founded LaserQuip with business partner Garry Fleming in 1987.
Other board members include director Bob Bent, who started Laser Beams in 1982, and non executive chairman Ian Petherbridge, formerly general manager for services at one of Australia’s largest IT Services firms.
