Nominations are now open for the Geospatial in Schools Awards for 2025, which aim to recognise outstanding teachers and students who are involved in geospatial education.

Organised by education company, She Maps, the awards are open to students and teachers who have made notable achievements in teaching or learning about geospatial topics, through curriculum subjects such as geography, humanities and social sciences, earth and environmental sciences, or digital technologies.

The three award categories are:

  • Outstanding Geospatial Student Award (for students of any age)
  • Emerging Geospatial Teacher Award (for those teaching for fewer than 3 years)
  • Innovative Geospatial Teacher Award (for those teaching for more than 3 years)

Eligibility criteria can be found on the Awards website.

The deadline for nominations is 30 November 2024, with finalists to be announced on 13 February 2025. The winners will be presented with their awards at a special ceremony to be held during the Locate25 conference in Brisbane in April 2025.
