Faro launches Zone 3D 2021 software suite

By on 15 December, 2020

Faro has announced the latest release of its Zone 3D suite for forensic 3D reconstructions.

The firm has long specialised in scanning and scene reconstruction technologies for emergency and law enforcement services to assist in investigations, with a range of rapid 3D scanners and processing suites.

Faro says the latest incarnation of Zone 3D provides a range of new tools and features: new realism such as growing grass, enhanced textures, multiple light sources, a new reconstruction analysis tool and automatic import of Event Recorder (EDR) data.

“For public safety professionals, measuring and documenting a scene is a critical aspect of the job and one that requires total accuracy,” said Janice White, Director of Software Product Marketing at Faro.

“We believe that Faro Zone 3D 2021 provides the most comprehensive scene documentation software on the market today, with even more stunning results and compelling visuals than previous versions.”

The new release also features bullet trajectories through multiple surfaces, 50 new human models, a new vehicle and specifications database and a feature to analyse bloodstains — along with a range of new features for Faro laser scanner users, and new sharing functionality.
