iPhone GIS arrives

One of the standouts of the many excellent products and services on display at the spatial@gov conference was Tasmanian company Geometry IT’s iGIS for the iPhone and iPad.

iGIS allows iPhone and iPad owners to load, view and add their own data over the Google map satellite imagery.

Spatial data can be loaded onto the user’s device, manipulated in the field, and returned to the enterprise database. The user’s spatial data is stored on the iPhone/iPad, so there is no need for a connection to see the data, which is ideal for field work, especially in remote areas.
