Dialog Information Technology recently announced that Josh Venman, formerly Esri’s Chief Technology Strategist, is joining the National Google Enterprise practice to head the Geospatial Consulting Team.
According to Dialog, Josh brings a wealth of experience in the Geospatial/GIS market to the practice, and will be providing architectural consultancy for organisations that are looking to extend their geospatial capabilities with visualisation technologies from the Google suite of products, while leveraging their existing GIS investments.
Josh’s role will be to assist clients with transforming their geospatial capabilities, as well as maintaining the latest knowledge and awareness of the products and developments coming from the Google Geospatial Engineering teams at Google’s Sydney offices and the Google Earth product teams in Mountainview, California.
Josh was responsible for the “Esri in the Cloud” initiative, and brings this architectural experience and product development wisdom to Dialog’s clients – capabilities that many organisations are starting to explore, with the proliferation of spatially-aware devices in the market.
Google Enterprise National Practice Manager, Glenn Irvine said, “Josh’s capabilities and experience in the Geospatial market brings a whole new level of capability to Dialog’s already extensive GIS and spatial consulting work for Government and Corporate clients. We are looking forward to a new Architect-led approach to Geospatial in the practice, and know our clients will value these engagements.”
The Architect-led services offering will add to Dialog’s catalogue of capabilities, including the appointment by Google earlier this year to manage the Google Earth Pro licensing across Australia and New Zealand on behalf of the vendor.
