New geospatial courses at Melbourne’s RMIT university will leverage Safe Software’s FME data integration platform in upcoming vocational courses and Masters programs.

Safe Software will provide students with free educational licenses for their use of the software, with free annual institutional licenses for staff, with licensing and technical support provided by 1Spatial, Australian distributors for FME.

The tool will be used in the geospatial science courses offered by the school of Vocational Engineering, Health & Sciences, including the newly updated Diploma of Spatial Information Services. The platform will also be utilised in undergraduate and postgraduate programs provided by the RMIT Advanced college.

Information provided by 1Spatial indicates that the licenses for educators will make the software a university-wide resource, available to all departments as well as accounting and business systems, and office and facility management operations.
