A Congress for All
This year the World of Drones Congress is introducing the Startup Hub targeted to entrepreneurs, startups and new businesses, where each can demonstrate how innovative technologies enhance Real Business and Opportunity in the Global Drone Economy. The Startup Hub will be located inside the DroneExpo.
The DroneExpo will feature more than 30 exhibitors from across Asia, Europe and the Pacific showcasing the latest on drone technology and innovative applications.
Attractively priced sponsorship packages and exhibition opportunities at the DroneExpo and Startup Hub are still available. Emailsponsor@ccm.com.au for more information and a copy of the Sponsorship and Exhibition Prospectus.
WoDC 2019 will also host the Drones Enhancing Work Safety warm-up workshop, run by the Queensland Government’s Workplace Health and Safety Queensland, Office of Industrial Relations. Case studies will be presented by businesses using drones to eliminate or mitigate work health and safety hazards and risks. Attendees will learn how drone technology can reduce risks for workers and improve business productivity.
Additionally, Carys Kaiser, trainer, drone pilot, TV producer-director and camera operator will offer the exclusive How to get the best out of your drone camera masterclass. This masterclass, through case studies, practical hands on work and discussion, will give attendees tips, tricks and industry insights to help showcase their drone camera skills and what content has a higher chance of engaging audiences and potential clients, and the options available for settings on drone cameras.
Drone Rescue ExerciseAs previous years, the World of Drones Congress will offer attendees the opportunity to watch a drone rescue demonstration on the last day of the congress. Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) will stage a simulated rescue demonstration at a car crush using a drone. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to get familiar with drone lifesaving operations.
Design a Drone Workshop
Queensland students will have the opportunity to flex their creativity in the hotspot of drone innovation. The World of Drones Education in conjunction with HackathonsAustralia and the World of Drones Congress are hosting the Design a Drone Workshop for local students to design solutions around the Congress’ themes and topics such as the Environment, Safety, Emergency and Humanitarian, just to name a few.
The purpose of this workshop is to give students an opportunity to meet those who work in the drone industry and to solve real world problems with the use of drones. Prizes include the DJI Tello Droneswhich will be given to each student on the winning teams for the best design and the best concept.
Don’t miss the opportunity to connect, collaborate and co-create with domestic and international UAV business representatives, drone pilots, manufacturers, application developers, researchers and more at the World of Drones Congress. See you in September!
WoDC is largely made possible by the valuable contribution of the Queensland Government and our major sponsors and supporters.

About this Event
Everybody talks about UAV LiDAR – the engineer in planning, the forester involved in wood mass calculation, the construction companies taking part in large projects to model it before, during and after its implementation or the utility companies for their corridor mapping and infrastructures management.
Reasons enough for us to continue the Yellowscan Demo tour in Australia, under the motto « Measuring the world with UAV LiDAR ». The scope is to show this high tech tool in a real working environment and how easy it is to generate topographic data with UAV LiDAR.
During our tour you will learn about the latest solutions and use cases from YellowScan and its partners with lectures, workshops and open discussions.
We look forward to meeting you !
YellowScan will be demonstrating two systems:
– YellowScan Surveyor Ultra, the high density & long-range LiDAR solution for UAV. Thanks to its high density (600 000 shots per second), this turn-key fully autonomous system is ideally suited for high speed & long-range projects. Its light weight (1.7 kg battery included) makes it also easy to mount on any drone.
Ideal Use cases: Mining, Archeology, Powerlines.
Applanix APX-15 & Velodyne VLP-32 inside.
– YellowScan Vx-20, the high precision & long-range LiDAR solution for UAV. This system is ideally suited for long range survey needs advanced accuracy (2,5 cm) and precision (1 cm).
Ideal Use Cases: Civil engineering, Forestry
Applanix APX-20 & Riegl miniVUX inside.
LiDAR systems are renowned for under vegetation 3D modeling, and fast data processing.
