The Geological Survey of NSW invites you to its Exploration Data Workshop in Forbes on Wednesday 11 July. 

This workshop is for those who are involved with the exploration and mining industry in NSW or work with geoscientific data. It will provide an overview of our online systems, including the new SEED Portal, that allows Environmental mapping of areas selected by the user. The various presentations are designed to assist you in accessing the vast array of geoscientific data held by the Geological Survey of NSW, Department of Planning and Environment.

The workshop is designed to be interactive, giving attendees who bring along their own laptop the opportunity to explore the data and online systems under the guidance of subject matter experts from Geological Survey NSW. Alternatively, you may wish to simply watch the presentations and live demonstrations.

The workshop will run from 10.00am and will include sessions on:

  • Unlocking data in the DIGS system
  • Using the new MinView to explore and download geoscience data
  • Find geophysical and hyperspectral data for your NSW projects
  • Seamless Geology: Best available geology maps
  • Mineral Prospectivity mapping
  • Exploration Reporting
  • SEED Portal: Environmental mapping for miners and explorers
  • Compliance: A practical guide to your responsibilities
