BOB March (2)

Believe it or not this image isn’t the aerial view of a sodden marshland. In fact it’s something much smaller. The HERE blog created the quiz, “Can you guess what these map like objects are?” and I bet you’ll get most of the answers wrong.

If like me, you’re spent countless hours of your life sitting at traffic lights with hardly any traffic passing through, all because humans in general aren’t aware enough, quick enough, or kind enough to allow for free flowing traffic, well autonomous cars may be our saviour. Spectrum IEEE’s article shows how efficient (and terrifying) our modern intersections might be, transforming what we know as traffic lights into light traffic.

BOB_streetview_glitches_500

When Google set out to map the world in Streetview using automatically mashed up images, there was inevitably going to be some errors. But when these glitches are of human body parts, they truly become the stuff of nightmares, as shown in this collection by Quartz.

BOB_Galaxy

Manned or unmanned, we have made a lot of journeys across our own galaxy. Geoawesomeness shared this impressive map, which details all of those journeys and the vehicles that have made them.
