In Japan, Hiroshima’s tourism board has created Hiroshima Cat Street View, proving that “truly nothing is im-paw-ssible” (Vox’s words, not mine).

 

This week, the image of drowned toddler Aylan Kurdi, the emotional footage of thousands of stranded refugees in Hungary and the revelation of a humanitarian crisis in Syria led the media into a frenzy about the prevailing debate topic of accepting refugees. Big Think analysed the refugee map of Europe, which shows Sweden accepted 81,000 refugees over the 201 period. By comparison, Australia, a country with a population double that of Sweden, only accepted a meager 11,970, as dissected by the ID Blog.

 

Normally we map the world based on its physical features. With the way interconnectivity is heading, maybe we’re now more interested in the distribution and development of the invisible world, that is, our Wi-fi networks.
