Nominations for the 2026 AURIN Peter Woodgate Award close this Friday, 4 September at 5:00pm AEST.

The award honours Dr Peter Woodgate’s legacy within the Australian geospatial sector, including his time with the Australian Urban Research Infrastructure Network (AURIN).

The AURIN Peter Woodgate Award recognises an individual whose collaboration, mentorship, leadership, innovation, and impact have strengthened Australia’s geospatial profession.

It is open to Australia-based individuals working within, or making a significant contribution to, the geospatial profession.

Nominees may come from academia, government, industry, or the not-for-profit sector and can be at any stage of their career. Self-nominations are not accepted.

Nominations will be assessed against five criteria:

  • Collaboration
  • Mentorship
  • Innovation
  • Leadership
  • Impact

The recipient will receive a $2,000 cash prize and day registration for the Locate26 Conference/10th Digital Earth Summit in Melbourne. The award will be presented during the Geospatial Excellence Awards at the event.
