Trimble and Esri have announced an “extension of their long-standing strategic partnership” with the aim of enhancing collaboration in GIS software, location intelligence and mapping.

The companies said they have recommitted to an ongoing effort to advance “methods to optimise processes, support decision making and automate workflows that enable greener infrastructure planning, construction and operations for mutual customers”.

For its part, Trimble, a Platinum partner in the Esri Partner Network, says it will focus on solution interoperability and deeper technology integration.

“Trimble and Esri are at the forefront of providing integrated solutions to enhance GIS workflow efficiencies for ArcGIS customers around the world,” said Richard Cooke, director of business development at Esri.

“This collaboration is particularly valuable in areas such as infrastructure management, asset lifecycle management, data advances and location intelligence that enable organisations to make more informed decisions.”

“Our partnership with Esri supports our mission to modernise the plan-design-build-operate lifecycle,” said Chris Stern, vice president of corporate ventures and partnerships at Trimble.

“By more tightly integrating our advanced geospatial technologies and industry solutions with Esri’s market-leading ArcGIS software, we are making it easier for our customers to achieve unparalleled accuracy, efficiency and sustainability in their projects.”

The companies say they are exploring emerging technologies together, such as industry data models that support accurate generative AI technologies and workflows.

They also working together in the humanitarian field, citing a recent collaboration with The HALO Trust, a global landmine-clearing organisation, wherein Trimble’s mapping technology is combined with Esri’s ArcGIS software to improve the capacity to locate and remove landmines and other explosive hazards.
