The National Library of Australia (NLA) recently announced that it has now digitised its set of 24 Flood Inundation Maps of cities and towns in NSW, produced by the erstwhile NSW Water Resources Commission in the late 70s/early 80s, and is able to provide digital or paper copies through its standard Copies Direct service.
The task was made possible by the NSW Minister for the Environment, Mrs Robyn Parker, whom granted permission to the NLA to scan and copy these still in-copyright maps.

These maps add to the Brisbane flood maps of 1974 that NLA placed online during the Brisbane floods last year.
Of the 24 newly-digitised maps, Cooma, Cowra, Queanbeyan and several other towns suffered floods in April this year, so while the information in these maps is out-dated (note the NSW govt statement in each record), it is timely, and it is hoped that they will be useful to those researching natural disasters.
