Position magazine October/November features

Project ResQu UAV

With a dual special focus on ‘GIS in the mainstream – crowdsourcing, mash-ups, web mapping’ and ‘GIS and governments – spatially empowered governance’ the October/November 2014 edition of Position Magazine will cover two of the most important and relevant issues of interest to spatial professionals today: how the ongoing move of GIS into the mainstream can be developed into profitable business ventures, and how governments can use geospatial information to improve decision making and service delivery to the public.

This issue will additionally cover ‘Open data – beyond private ownership’ discussing the innovation that freely and easily available data has spawned, and how it will spread geospatial intelligence even further across the business community.

And for the technically minded, is there nothing the new generation of UAV can do? Potentially flying farther and longer than ever (subject to regulations), and with sophisticated control technology built in, UAV appear to be the ‘next big thing’, a truly great invention to join LiDAR in the geospatial industry’s armoury.

Issue 73 of Position Magazine will be read by all those who make decisions at various levels of government, as well as those commercial organisations whose business relies on accurate spatial information and advanced data processing software in order to develop their services for public consumption.

The October/November 2014 issue of Position magazine will be the ideal medium to reach buyers in government at all levels, as well as related industries and enterprises involved in developing applications for use by the public. So if your business is to supply equipment, software and/or services in the mapping, aerial photography, data acquisition and processing, and consultancy areas, you can’t afford not to be in Position magazine.
