The MapInfo Forum is back for 2014, beginning in Adelaide on August 12, before making its way through the rest of the states.
Crowd favourite Steve Mann, global director of product development at Pitney Bowes, returns to the MapInfo Forum stage this year to unveil the new MapInfo Professional 12.5. We spent 5 minutes with Steve to understand the various streams at this year’s Forums and what he expects the highlights to be.
Q. Can you explain the streams at this year’s event?
A. “We have 3 streams at most events this year. They are:
“Desktop: This stream will cover the use of desktop products such as MapInfo Professional and Discover and will include real world case studies of organisations using these applications
“Web & Server: This stream will cover web and server solutions. If you’re a current user of products such as MapInfo Exponare, MapInfo Stratus or Spectrum Spatial, come along to hear how others have deployed these solutions. This stream would also be of interest to MapInfo Professional users who would like to publish their data to the web for internal or external use.
“Data & Analytics: This stream will include a variety of interesting presentations from organisations deploying data and analytical solutions to help solve business critical decisions such as where to place a new store or community facility.”
Q. What are you most looking forward to, Steve?
A. “I am fascinated by the QLiTE project, which QLD Police Service will be speaking about. This is a great example of seamlessly embedding location into a mission critical application such as frontline policing. We also always have great feedback about Tony Maber, Senior Pre-Sales Consultant, Pitney Bowes, and his MapInfo Tips & Tricks.”
In addition to this presentation, the MapInfo Forums will feature numerous case study presentations from MapInfo users across a range of industries including Domino’s Pizza, Goodlife Health Clubs, Jaguar Land Rover, Queensland Department of Main Roads, GHD and more. Additionally, the ever-popular “Tips n Tricks” session is back with more handy hints on how to get the most out of your MapInfo products.
SSSI Members who attend a MapInfo Forum 2014 event during August earn 3 CPD points.
