National hazard risk API goes live

By on 11 December, 2018

The Bushfire & Natural Hazards CRC and Geoscience Australia have launched a new platform exposing detailed data from theĀ Australian Exposure Information Platform (AEIP).

The new service combines the Natural Hazard Exposure Information Framework andĀ National Exposure Information System (NEXIS), facilitating direct access to the modeling, as well as statistical summaries of elements within an area of interest.

Elements can include public facilities, infrastructure assets, buildings, agricultural commodities, environmental holdings, businesses and people, each containing multidimensional risk modeling data for a given hazard.

The data is available via an interactive map web interface, or an application programming interface (API) for those looking to incorporate it into web services or automated modeling or reporting functions of their own.
