ArcGIS is one of the world’s most widely used and popular commercial software suites, with powerful capabilities in 2D and 3D spatial data capture, editing, mapping, analytics, publishing and storage. In recognition of this, NGIS are running a series of introductory workshops throughout Australia’s capital cities from March through June.
As an Esri partner in Australia, NGIS provides a range of accredited ArcGIS training to suit all users’ needs. Whether you are a regular user who needs to sharpen GIS skills, or a beginner who would like to kick-start GIS with confidence.
The hands-on three day course provides participants with a comprehensive introduction to the ArcGIS desktop software, equipping them with the necessary skills to be able to utilise the core functionality of the ArcGIS package. The exercises will introduce participants to the applications that comprise ArcGIS; ArcMap for visualising and editing data, ArcCatalog for data and metadata management, and ArcToolbox for geoprocessing. On completion, participants will have a sound understanding of basic geospatial concepts and the skills to create, edit and work with geospatial data using the ArcGIS software package.
No previous experience with ArcGIS software is required, although experience with using Microsoft Windows is essential.
NGIS also run many other GIS courses for all levels, from Google Earth mapping to QGIS and programming with python.
