Anditi’s road tech boosted by federal grant

Anditi’s Road.ai product aims to assist governments with road safety and road asset management.

Road travel could soon become safer thanks to federal government funding of Australian-designed AI road assessment technology.

Newcastle-based AI firm Anditi is one of 12 companies to have been awarded a share of $8.4 million handed out under the latest round of the Accelerating Commercialisation program.

Anditi is a specialist in geospatial data analytics and visualisation in the road transport sector.

The funding will enable the company to fully commercialise its Road.ai product, which uses AI to extract features from spatial data for road safety and road asset assessment.

It’s also used for connected- and autonomous-vehicle analysis and for general mobile LiDAR and 360-degree work.

Anditi founder and managing director Peter Jamieson acknowledged “the generous support provided by Accelerating Commercialisation and AusIndustry” in helping the company prepare its grant application.

The Accelerating Commercialisation initiative has been running for the past seven years, during which it has awarded 531 grants totalling more than $259 million.
